SOLUTION: The index printer 9 primarily comprises a pin 10 for position restriction and a print part 11. The print position is restricted by inserting the pin 10 for position restriction into the center hole of the pair information recording medium and then the index printer 9 is pressed down against the surface of the pair information recording medium to transfer the character pattern of the print part 11 to the index display part of the pair information recording medium. Consequently, the index information can accurately and easily be recorded to the narrow ring-shaped index display part of the both-side recordable pair information recording medium such as DVD.
