PASSENGER RESCUE OPERATION DEVICE FOR ELEVATOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To quickly rescue the passengers from a car in safety when the passengers are shut in the car. SOLUTION: This passenger rescue operation device of an elevator comprises a driving device 2 installed in a hoistway 1, a hoisting drum 3 installed in the driving device 2, an electromagnetic brake 4 for holding the hoisting drum 3, a motor 5 for rotating the hoisting drum, a controller 6 for controlling the operation of the electromagnetic brake, the motor and the elevator, and a car 8 connected to a rope end of a rope 7 mounted on the hoisting drum 3 through a pulley 9 installed at the uppermost part in the hoistway 1. On this occasion, the device comprises car position detecting means 10, 11 for detecting that the car 8 is stopped on the way of the hoistway 1, a failure detecting means 13 for detecting the factor of the failure, and the automatic rescue operation means 14-18 for automatically repeating the braking motion and the opening motion of the electromagnetic brake on the basis of the signals from the car position detecting means 10, 11 and the failure detecting means 13, for lowering the car 8 to a floor capable of opening and closing a door.
