SOLUTION: The cell protective agent on this invention contains a substance having the property taken in cells through prostaglandin-transporter (PGT) as an active ingredient. The method of selecting cell protective agonists on this invention is carried out by measuring the uptake into cells through PGT. The protective agent on this invention is useful as an inhibitor for neurocyte apoptosis, a neurocyte protective agent, or the like, because the substance, which is an active ingredient in the cell protective agent on this invention and has the property taken in cells through PGT, shows cell apoptosis inhibitory effect.
