ORAL COMPOSITION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an oral composition having an excellent removing effect on dirt on the tooth surface such as stain, plaque or tar of a cigarette by a chemical action. SOLUTION: This oral composition contains (A) an isopropyl carboxylate and (B) a water-soluble polyphosphate expressed by the formula: Mn+2PnO3n+1 M is Na or K and (n)>=2} and the formula: (MPO3)m M is Na or K and (m)>=3}. The oral composition effectively removes dirt on the tooth surface such as stain, plaque or tar of a cigarette by a chemical action and capable of cleaning even the part where a brush is not reached and capable of extremely increasing the chemical cleaning effect in the mouth, then a whitening effect on the tooth surface is increased.
