STEERING SUPPORTING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the rigidity of a car body by a light-weight steering supporting device of simple structure. SOLUTION: This supporting device 40 supports a steering column 31 on a car body 11. On this occasion, this device 40 comprises a rod-shaped supporting member 41 extending in the car width direction for supporting the steering column 31, and left and right flanges 42, 42 mounted on both ends of the supporting member 41, and the left and right flanges 42, 42 are fastened to the left and right front pillars 51, 51 of the car body. A length of the supporting member 41 is approximately same as a width between the left and right front pillars 51, 51, the left and right flanges 42, 42 are welded and joined to the supporting member 41, and the left and right flanges 42, 42 are fastened to the left and right front pillars 51, 51 by means of a plurality of bolts 47... inserted from the car width direction.
