Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digest video image generator that generates a digest video stream that edit is available or synthesis display is attained for each scene even when a video part is in duplicate among plural scenes. SOLUTION: This video image generator is provided with a digest processing frame segmentation means 103 that segments an object digest video image, a scene video image generating control means 104 that controls processing in the unit of scenes, and an image coding means 105 that applies compression coding to the video data in the unit of frames, and stores the video image in duplicate among a plural scenes to an area that is not usually reproduced. In the case of single reproduction, the video image in duplicate is not reproduced in duplicate and a digest video image stream whose GOP(group of picture) configuration is uniform for each scene is generated.
