MALFUNCTION DETECTOR OF MOTOR DRIVE MECHANISM AND MALFUNCTION DETECTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To determine whether or not malfunction occured in a motor drive mechanism. SOLUTION: This malfunction detector is provided with a motor 31 with a multiphase stator coil, current sensors 33, 34, which detect phase current supplied to respective stator coils except for one of a plurality of phases and generates current detecting values for respective phases, a drive signal generating means generating drive signals for respective phases based on respective current detecting values and current command values, and current generating part 101 for generating a phase current supplied to the stator coils for respective phases, based on the respective drive signals. The drive signal generating means is provided with a malfunction determining means 102 for determining whether or not malfunctions occured in the motor drive mechanism 10, based on at least one value of the current detecting value and driving signal. As a result, the need for disposing the current sensor for each phase is dispensed with.
