GARBAGE-PROCESSING UNIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a garbage-processing unit where the environmental condition in a secondary fermentation (especially the one necessary for the activity of anaerobic fermentative bacteria) is always maintained most suitably and compost after the completion of primary fermentation can sufficiently be denitrified. SOLUTION: Exhaust pipes for discharging steam generated in a primary fermenter 4 consist of an exhaust pipe 20 for directly discharging the steam outside of the fermenter and an exhaust-guiding pipe 22 which discharges the steam into a secondary fermenter 5 as means for supplying moist into the secondary fermenter 5. The switching operation of an electromagnetic value 21 in the pipe 22 is controlled by a controller 35 on the basis of the temperature of compost in secondary fermentation, detected by a thermometer 34 installed inside the secondary fermenter 5.
