Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the discharge pressure of ink to be increased and thereby improve printing speed (response speed) and image quality. SOLUTION: This ink jet head 1 comprises a nozzle 6 for discharging ink droplets, an ink flow path 7 with which the nozzle 6 communicates, a vibration plate 11 provided on a part of the ink flow path 7 and an opposite electrode 22 to the vibration plate 11. In this case, the ink jet head 1 is of such a structure that a high coercive force magnetic material film 30 is provided on the vibration plate 11 side. Further, a drive voltage source 32 is connected to one of the end sides of the electrode 22 of the ink jet head 1 and a switching element 34 is connected to the other end side of the electrode 22. In addition, ink droplets are discharged from the nozzle 6 by deforming the vibration plate 11 to the electrode side by an electrostatic force and generating an electromagnetic force during ink droplet discharge to deform the vibration plate 11 in the restoration direction.
