GEL COMPOSITION FOR TRANSPARENT CANDLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gel composition for a transparent candle, excellent in transparency and easy to be handled in production. SOLUTION: This gel composition for a transparent candle comprises (A) a mineral oil and (B) a gelling agent comprising a triblock copolymer of polystyrene with a polyolefin (or a hydrogenated polyolefin). The gel composition may contain (C) a fatty acid glyceride and/or a monoester of a fatty acid and (D) perfume. The gel composition is excellent in transparency, has a lower melting temperature, easy to handle in production and suitable for use by being filled in a container. In addition, the gel composition has advantages of making the amount of emergence of soot be decreased, capability of maintaining the size of flame constant and sustainedly burning. Turbidity due to the addition of perfume doesn't occur and the diffusion of fragrance is excellent because the whole surface of the composition uniformly and thinly melts in burning.
