Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an antibody which reacts with an amino acid having a carboxymethylated amino group on a side chain and existing in a protein or the like, does not react with an amino acid having a carboxyethylated amino group on a side chain, and is useful for detecting diabetic complications or the like. SOLUTION: This antibody reacts with an amino acid which exists in a protein or a peptide and whose amino acid on a side chain is carboxymethylated, such as -carboxymethyllysine, but does not react with an amino acid whose amino acid on a side chain is carboxyethylated. The antibody is preferably a polyclonal antibody or a monoclonal antibody, and is preferably produced using a hybridoma deposited as FERM P-17153. A method for detecting a diabetic complication comprises reacting the antibody with a protein or peptide which partially contains an amino acid whose amino acid on a side chain is carboxymethylated. A method for producing a protein or peptide comprises collecting the protein or peptide from the obtained reaction products. |
