Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately cut a continuously carried work into a specified length by providing a work tip position detecting device which can accurately detects a tip position of the work. SOLUTION: This device is provided with a cutting machine 5 which moves together with a moving abutment part 4 and cuts a specified position of a work W, and the moving abutment part 4 is provided with a moving part 6 which can move on a carrying passage 3 and an abutment part 7 which abuts a tip of the work W. The abutment part 7 comprises an abutting face 7a orthogonal to the carrying direction of the work W, and when the tip of the work W abuts to and presses the abutting face 7a, the moving part 6 moves a specified length to the carrying direction of the work W with the tip of the work W abutting, and the moving abutment part 4 is provided with a sensor part. The sensor part thereby detects the abutment part 7 to move a specified distance after being pressed by the work W, operates a cutter blade 5a to cut a specified part of the work W, and makes the moving abutment part 4 move together with the work W on the carrying passage 3.
