Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple-constitution transfer roller constituted so that a stable transfer characteristics can be obtained. SOLUTION: This transfer roller 1 is provided with a core bar 3, an elastic layer 5 formed around the bar 3, a foaming layer 7 formed around the layer 5 so as to press a first transfer paper 13 toward a photoreceptor 11 and a power source 9 applying voltage. Then, a transfer current is applied to the paper 13 intervening between the photoreceptor 11 and the layer 7. Besides, the resistance value of the layer 7 is reduced according as the thickness thereof is reduced.
