Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable always monitoring an image having the same finish as that of an image photographed on a film before photographing, irrespectively of the kinds of cameras. SOLUTION: The electronic view finder 1 is constituted of an image pickup device 2 for picking up an optical image in a finder and a monitor device 3 for displaying the picked up image. A calibration mode is set by a CAL.SET switch 302b, and in the case of setting this mode, the luminance ratio of a film plane to the image pickup surface is calculated by test-exposing an object whose luminance is a standard one, and the ratio is previously stored in a memory. In the case the instruction to execute the trial exposure is given by a TR switch 302d before regular photographing, an exposure control value set by the camera 5 is corrected based on the luminance ratio stored in the memory, then, the exposure control value capable of obtaining the same exposure as that at the regular photographing time is calculated, and the object image picked up based on the control value is displayed on the LCD display part 301 for the monitoring device 3.
