Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the drive noise of an internal combustion engine, while suppressing the weight increase of the cam shaft of an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: An exhaust cam shaft 28 is provided with a solid region having no hollow part (oiling path 104) in the inside in an axial direction, and a hollow region having the hollow part (the path 104) in the inside. A pump cam 52 for driving a high pressure fuel pump is provided in the solid region. Consequently noise transmitted from the cam 52 can be suppressed in transmitting the noise to other portions of the shaft 28 by the high rigid solid region, resulting in the unexpansiveness of a noise radiation source to reduce the drive noise of an engine. The weight increase of the shaft 28 can be suppressed because thus not all shaft 28 is solid, a region provided with the cam 52 is made solid, and another region is made hollow. |
