Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a liquid crystal display device having wide viewing angle characteristics in a comparatively simple process with high yield by providing a process for laminating a pair of substrates with the faces having electrodes formed facing each other and a process for supplying a liquid crystal material having positive or negative dielectric anisotropy to the space between the pair of substrates. SOLUTION: A pair of substrates 32, 34 having electrodes 31, 33 are prepared, and a first coating liquid containing a hardening resin material is selectively applied by an ink-jet method on the surface of at least one substrate 32 where the electrode 31 is formed. The selectively applied first coating liquid is dried and hardened to form projections 36. The pair of substrates 32, 34 are laminated with the faces having electrodes 31, 33 formed facing each other, and a liquid crystal material having positive or negative dielectric anisotropy is supplied to the space between the pair of substrates 32, 34. By this constitution, since an expensive device or a photomask is not required, the liquid crystal display device having wide viewing angle characteristics can be produced in a rather easy process with high yield. |
