Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a sliver scratch when an austenite stainless steel is hot rolled. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing an austenite stainless steel comprises the steps of component regulating a ratio Mn/S of an Mn amount to an S amount in the steel to more than 300, limiting the S amount in a fuel used in a heating furnace to 0.10% or below, heating a slab of the steel, and subsequently hot rolling the heated slab. Thus, a grain boundary oxidation of the steel in the furnace can be suppressed, a microcrack when hot rolled can be suppressed to prevent a sliver scratch.
