Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the discharge characteristic of lubricating flow control valves at low engine speed. SOLUTION: This common rail mechanism has an adjustable spare feed pump for feeding a flow of fuel from a fuel tank to a high-pressure pump. The fuel flow is divided into a lubricating flow via a valve system and a highly pressure-loaded high-pressure feed flow to be supplied to a high-pressure accumulator. The spare feed pump has a practically linear discharge characteristic curve 1 of preset gradients. The valve system for the lubricating flow has one valve, whose discharge characteristic curve 2 slopes up in a first section I at the same gradient as the discharge characteristic curve 1 of the spare feed pump in dependence on the speed of rotation of the spare feed pump, slopes up in a second section II generally linearly at a slightly gentler gradient than the spare feed pump discharge characteristic curve 1, and slopes down finally in a third section III.
