DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DISCRIMINATING OPTICAL DISK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily discriminate an optical disk having an identification mark displayed on an information recording surface, the mark being unseen or difficult to be seen because of the color of a substrate or the semi-transmission film of a first layer, from other optical disks. SOLUTION: This device is provided with an infrared ray light source 23 for radiating infrared rays toward the information recording surface of an optical disk 3 having information recorded by a pit, an infrared ray camera 24 for receiving a light reflected from the information recording surface and discriminating the identification mark of the optical disk appearing by a pit, and a video monitor 26 or a comparator 27.
