Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform update to proper firmware by allowing a host computer side to recognize that the version of the firmware of the image forming device is not proper for the software of a host computer without making a user aware of that. SOLUTION: The host computer 1 requests version information on the current firmware of the image forming device 10 of the image forming device 10 and at this request, the image forming device 10 sends the version information to the host computer 1. The host computer 1 receives and compares the version information with its held version information and sends the firmware file that the host computer has to the image forming device 10 when the firmware of the image forming device 10 needs to be updated according to the comparison result. The image forming device 10 receives this firmware file and rewrites the firmware.
