Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject compounds in a high yield by reacting a diaminodihalopyrimidine with formic acid. SOLUTION: (C) A final product expressed by formula II (X is a halogen) or formula III is obtained by reacting (A) a compound expressed by formula I, (e.g. 2,5-diamino-4,6-dichloropyrimidine, etc.), with (B) formic acid having 70-98% concentration at a temp. of 20-60 deg.C without passing through intermediate products. The ingredient A is obtained by reacting (D) a compound expressed by formula IV with phosphorus oxyhalide (e.g. phosphorus oxychloride, etc.), and a quaternary ammonium halide (e.g. ammonium chloride, etc.), or an amine in a halogenated hydrocarbon solvent (e.g. 1,2,3-trichloropropane, etc.), preferably at 20 deg.C to the reflux temperature of the solvent.
