Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To economically produce individual dichlorotoluene isomers from their isomer mixture. SOLUTION: 2,4-Dichlorotoluene is isolated from a dichlorotoluene isomer mixture including 2,4-dichlorotoluene but not 3,5-dichlorotoluene by the adsorption separation. Then, the dichlorotoluene isomer mixture poor in the concentration of 2,4-dichlorotoluene is subjected to the combination of the adsorption separation, isomerization and/or transalkylation to produce 2,6-dichlorotoluene and 3,5-dichlorotoluene economically.
