RECHARGEABLE LITHIUM ELECTROCHMICAL BATTERY SERVICEABLE AT LOW TEMPERATURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rechargeable lithium electrochemical battery having excellent performances in low-temp. operation, compared with a conventional battery. SOLUTION: A rechargeable lithium electrochemical battery is composed of an electrolyte containing lithium salt dissolved in a non-aqueous solvent, at least one positive electrode, a binder consisting of polymer not containing fluorine, and at least one paste-form negative electrode containing an active material consisting of a carbon compound suitable for implantation of lithium ions and active in electrochemical terms. The solvent contains at least one sort of saturated cyclic ester of carbonic acid, at least one sort of unsaturated cyclic ester of carbonic acid, and at least one sort of straight chain ester of saturated aliphatic series monocarboxylic acids.
