FINGERPRINT COLLATING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the function of log-on, etc., of a computer from being illegally controlled by exchanging fingerprint collating terminal equipment with the other one fraudulently. SOLUTION: Extracted feature data 2a of a fingerprint are stored in a first storage means 3 by fingerprint collating terminal equipment 1 at the time of fingerprint information registration and stored in a second storage means 10 of a host device 6 as well. At the time of collating fingerprint data, registered case number signals 7b and 10a outputted from both the storage means 3 and 10 are compared by a comparing means 9. When the fingerprint collating terminal equipment 1 is exchanged fraudulently, the comparing means 9 outputs a case number non-coincidence signal 9a and the operation of a log-on start circuit 12 is not permitted.
