PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To decrease the various densities of lines by the drop of pixel voltage by the current leak, etc., of pixel transistors by controlling a controller circuit in such a manner that the voltage applied on signal electrodes attains the same polarity in vertical interval time codes of an even field and odd field. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a control means 130 for controlling a controller 118 as a control circuit in such a manner that the voltage applied on the signal electrodes attains the same polarity in the vertical interval time codes of the even field and the odd field. The control means 130 comprises a field-by-field signal generating circuit 119 and a field discrimination control circuit 120. The field discrimination control circuit 120 is constituted to execute field discrimination of the even field or odd field and outputs the signal discriminating the odd field and the even field in accordance with a vertical synchronizing signal and controls the field-by-field signal generating circuit 119.
