ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHIC TONER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain electrophotographic toners having excellent low temperature fixability by incorporating a specific amount of the gum selected from at least one of gua gum, dammar gum or copal gum into the toners. SOLUTION: The gum selected from at least one of the gua gum, dammar gum or copal gum is incorporated at 0.5 to 15 wt.% into the toners. As a result, the low temperature fixability may be improved without lowering the glass transition temperature Tg of this composition. This improvement is probably achieved by the improvement in the affinity of the functional group in the gua gum, dammar gum or copal gum and paper and the lowering of the melting initiation temperature of the toners by the addition of these additives. The amount 0.5 to 15 wt.% (more preferably 2 to 15 wt.%) of addition is a range where (a preservable property is maintained) and the fixing temperature is widened to a lower limit direction without largely lowering Tg. These additives are added to the composition in the production stage of a binder resin or in the production stage of the toners.
