CAMERA WITH AUTOMATIC FOCUSING FUNCTION AND SELF-TIMER FUNCTION

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera with an automatic focusing function and a self- timer function which can be made compact and reduced in cost. SOLUTION: Relating to this camera, a lens frame 7 is driven to a long distant focusing position or a short distant focusing position by setting an AF magnet 31 in an on-state or an off-state based on the information of the object distance in a normal photographing mode. In a self-timer photographing mode, the on-state of the magnet 31 is maintained as long as prescribed time counted by a self-timer and a shutter is opened and closed by setting the magnet 31 in the off-state after the above mentioned prescribed time. In such a way, the magnet 31 is made to function as the mechanism for driving an automatic focusing action and for controlling the self-timer.
