Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent temperature rising and light scattering in a liquid crystal panel and to obtain excellent heat and light resistance by arranging plural polarizing plates on the incident side of the liquid crystal panel. SOLUTION: When light is made incident on a liquid crystal panel 1, a polarizing plate 3a, being irradiated with the light, transmits light vibrating in parallel with the direction of the axis of polarization and absorbs other light. Thereby unnecessary light is absorbed by the front polarizing plate 3a. Though heat is generated on the polarizing plate 3a, for the purpose of avoiding the liquid crystal panel 1 to be influenced thereby, the distance between the polarizing plate 3a and the liquid crystal panel 1 is suitably set to prevent it from temperature rising. Next, the light transmitted by the polarizing plate 3a irradiates a polarizing plate 3b through a glass plate 5, which transmits light vibrating in parallel with the direction of the axis of polarization and absorbs other light. As a result, light scattering does not take place in the liquid crystal panel 1 as only the components of the polarized light, having the direction of vibration fitting together in one direction, are made incident on the liquid crystal panel 1. |
