COMPONENT RECOGNIZING DEVICE AND COMPONENT MOUNTING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the component recognizing device which can visually recognize an electronic component fast even when an electronic camera requiring a relatively long time to communicate a video signal and is usable for a high- speed electronic component mounting device and the component mounting device equipped with the component recognizing device. SOLUTION: The device is equipped with a high-resolution electronic camera 205 which picks up an image of an electronic component 111 with high resolution and converts it into a video signal, a signal controller 206, and an image memory 221 and sends out only an image of an arbitrary area including an image of the electronic component to be recognized as an area set according to, for example, the size of the electronic component in the video signal outputted by the electronic camera from the signal controller to the image memory. A communication of an image of an unnecessary part for an image process can be eliminated and even when the electronic camera having high resolution is used, the communication time of the video signal can be shortened.
