Zusammenfassung:	PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a graft polymer prepared by grafting t-butyl (meth)acrylate and a polymerizable carboxylic acid onto a polyvinyl lactam prepolymer in a specified ratio and partially neutralizing the product and having a specified K value and being useful as, especially, a hair set agent. SOLUTION: This graft copolymer is one prepared by radical-polymerizing (A) 50-85 mass % monomer of formula I and 15-30 mass % vinyl monomer having at least one carboxy group with (B) a prepolymer containing 30-50 mass % incorporation-polymerized monomer of formula III and having a K value of 30-50 and partially neutralizing the product and having a weight ratio of component A/component B of 100/5 to 100/200 and having a K value of 30-70. In the formula, R' and R" are each H or a 1-6C alkyl; X is -O- or formula IV; R is a 6-30C alkyl; and n is 1-3.
