Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating a mineral acid by using a long-term usable macroporous weak anion exchange resin having high removal efficiency in a neutralization treatment of the mineral acid contained in a crude phenol liquid obtained by an acid catalyzed decomposition of cumene hydroperoxide. SOLUTION: A crude phenol liquid obtained by an acid catalyzed decomposition of cumene hydroperoxide is brought into contact with a macroporous weak anion exchange resin having 0.15-1.5 mm average particle diameter and 1.0-1.4 particle diameter distribution uniformity to remove and neutralize a mineral acid. The exchange resin having 5-10 cross-linking degree can be preferably used.
