BOX TYPE BARGE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a box type barge which generates large resistance force against a lateral load, hardly causes drift and turn even when the lateral load is received, has high stability, and facilitates ship control for mooring a ship alongside the pier. SOLUTION: This box type barge is not provided with power for self sailing, pushed by a ship to sail, further with the outside of a ship body 1 in almost box shape, and floating with most of the ship body 1 and almost a bow on the water surface when a hold is placed in a condition empty or near empty. At least a protrusive unit 10 functioning as a resistance unit in the water against a lateral load to the ship body 1 is provided to protrude toward the forward in a lower surface of the bow A, and the protrusive unit 10 is arranged so as to be submerged under the water surface even when most of the ship body 1 and almost the blow are floated on the water surface.
