Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent formation of a bridge inside the hopper and to easily reduce the bulk of metallic scraps by arranging plates and pushers, in a manner that they are not superposed at the compressing area, on a pair of feeding conveyors provided towards the compressing area along a narrowly shaped hopper. SOLUTION: In a hopper 2 into which metallic scraps are thrown in, metal- made feeding conveyors 10A, 10B are installed that rotatably transport the scraps; the conveyor 10A is such that plates 16a are laid out on it, with box-like pushers 17a fixed on the plates 16a at a proper interval so that they do not hit other box-like pushers 17b at the compressing area 18. On the feeding conveyor 10B, elastic bodies are installed, serving to prevent excess load when a metallic scrap is thrown in that is uncompressible at the compressing area. The feeding conveyor 10B is otherwise similarly constituted as the conveyor 10A such that the plates 16b are laid out on the conveyor 10B, with box-like pushers 17b fixed on the plates 16b so that they do not collide with the box-like pushers 17a of the conveyor 10A at the compressing area 18.
