Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sufficiently and economically carry out the nitrogen separation from other gas such as oxygen or argon by using a molecular sieve substance such as a cation exchange zeolite containing a specified metal oxide in a pore system. SOLUTION: In the air separation, a composition composed of a molecular sieve substance containing exchangeable cations is used as an adsorbent for increasing the separation parameter of a nitrogen selective adsorbent. Fifty percents or more of the total exchangeable cations selected out of Ca, Ag, Cu and a mixture of them is contained in the composition, and the adsorbent is prepared by a composition containing a molecular sieve substance having in its pores at least one compound as a metal oxide selected from Li2O, Ag2O, CuO, Cu2O, CaO, MgO, SrO, ZnO and the like, precursors of the above metal oxides and a mixture of them. The structure type of the molecular sieve substance to be used is preferably BEA, CHA, EMT or the like, or the synthesis of a mixture of them or a natural zeolite. |
