PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a video cassette recorder without limitation on the number of reservation picture recording information to be preset. SOLUTION: This recorder is provided with a tuner 2 for receiving a television broadcasting signal, a key input device 7 for inputting reservation picture recording information required for reserving picture recording and a remote control transmitter 9, a memory 12 for storing the inputted reservation picture recording information, a tape 10 for recording the television broadcasting signal thereon, and a control circuit 5. When the television broadcasting signal is recorded on the tape 10 based on the reservation recording information inputted by a user and stored in the memory 12, the control circuit 5 records the reservation recording information in the control track of the tape 10 superimposing the information on the control signal.
