A tree structure restructuring part 9 restructures a tree structure and updates the mathematical expression object information. A mathematical expression display part 10 displays a mathematical expression in a mathematical expression temporary display area on a text screen according to the mathematical expression data when the mathematical expression object information is updated and the tree structure is restructured. A complete mathematical expression display part 11 displays the mathematical expression on the text screen after the mathematical expression input processing by adjusting its layout relatively to the document according to the mathematical expression data.
