Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new luminescent compound having improved luminescence efficiency and luminance characteristic and useful as a color-developing material for display elements. SOLUTION: A luminescent compound of formula I (Ar1 to Ar5 are each phenyl, naphthyl, anthracene, diphenylanthracene or the like; R1 to R4 are each H, ethylenoxy, a 1-20C alkyl, a 1-20C alkoxy, an aryl, trimethylsilyl, etc.), for example, a compound of formula II. The compound of formula II can be obtained, for example, by reacting a compound obtained from 4-bromobenzyl bromide as a starting raw material with benzophenone, and subsequently reacting the obtained compound of formula III with a compound of formula IV obtained from 4-methoxyphenol as a starting raw material. It is preferable that the luminescent compound of formula I as a color-developing material is contained in an organic membrane in an organic electroluminescent element wherein the organic membrane is disposed between a pair of electrodes. |
