SUN ROOF DEVICE OF VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sun roof device equipped with a front elevating mechanism and a rear elevating mechanism for elevating and sinking the front and rear parts of a lid with the lid closing operation capable of being precisely executed with a comparatively small driving force. SOLUTION: When a lid 6 is being closed, a front elevating mechanism 4 and a rear elevating mechanism 5 are actuated together during the period while a weather strip at the peripheral edge of a lid 6 remains out of slide contact with the peripheral edge flange of a roof opening 1a substantially so as to raise both the front and rear parts of the lid 6, and when the lid front attains the full closed position approximately, a wedge pin 42c intrudes into a horizontal groove portion of a groove 41a in a front wedge member 41 to stop the rising motion of the lid front performed by the front elevating mechanism 4. Thereafter the rear elevating mechanism 5 solely performs the elevating motion so that the weather strip of the lid reap is in slide contact with the rear edge flange of the opening 1a so that the full closed condition is generated.
