Zusammenfassung: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a suction element for a vacuum cleaner which has a wide suction width and high efficiency and is of small size and lightweight, and to provide a vacuum cleaner using the suction element. SOLUTION: Protruding belts 8 of an agitator 10 each have a function as an air turbine in addition to a dust scraping-out function and form a maximum dust collecting width nearly equal to the total width of a suction element. Moreover, the direction of a suction air flow is nearly the same as an air flow generated by the belts 8 driven by the agitator 10, and hence the direction of an air flow in a dust collecting chamber is uniformized so that dust is led to a suction port 5. And since an opening 60 which is open to the outside air and has a cross-sectional area equal to or larger than that of a passage 6 in a pipe 53 is provided between the external form of the belts 8 and the suction port 5, when the suction element is positioned in the air the agitator 10 does not rotate so that noises of low level can be achieved. |
