Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical write-in type liquid crystal light valve device capable of improving the productivity such as reducing the degree of difficulty in manufacturing process and manufacturing costs while realizing high sensitivity and high resolution and to provide a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION: This liquid crystal light valve device has at least a first electrode 61, a second electrode 62, an optical reflection layer 54, a liquid crystal layer 57 and a third electrode 63. The second electrode 62 is constituted of divided electrode parts 62A and these divided electrode parts 62A are constituted by connecting plural pieces of unit structures 65, 66 which are respectively consisting of parts 65a, 66a of a direction parallel with principal planes of respective layers and parts 65b, 66b of a lamination direction in the lamination direction and one end of the divided electrodes 62A are connected to a photoconductive layer 53. Moreover, the manufacturing of the optical write-in type liquid crystal light valve device is performed by allowing a process for grinding the surface of the second electrode 62 by a chemical and mechanical grinding method to have two grinding processes different in at least grinding conditions.
