AUTOMATIC ALIGNING DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the restoring force of a socket without rasing the resiliency of an elastic body, smoothly rotate the socket without whirling, suppress the inclination of the socket existing the misalignment of the axial line between the socket and a rotating shaft, to smoothly fasten a bolt and the like in an automatic aligning device performing the automatic restration of the socket in the elastic body, which is used for a robot for fastening the bolt and the like and is formed out of an universal joint to be interposed between the socket and the rotating shaft. SOLUTION: A socket 25 is connected with a cylindrical housing 23 to be fixed to rotating shaft 22 by way of an universal joint 26, an elastic body 27 formed out of a rubber ring is inserted into the socket 25 so as to be mounted to the opening end of the housing. The socket 25 can be made to be tilted in the given direction by means of the elastic body 27, and concurrently, it can be also made to be restored.
