Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably obtain a polyimide fiber having excellent heat resistance, flame retardance, chemical resistance, radiation resistance and dynamic characteristics and suitable as a base material for fiber-reinforced composite materials, etc., by spinning a polyimide having prescribed melting viscosities under specific conditions. SOLUTION: This method for producing a polyimide fiber comprises spinning a polyimide having a melt viscosity of =500 Pa.s at 420 deg.C at a spinning temperature of 380-420 deg.C in a melted state for a retention time of 5-30 min in a distance of 10-100 cm between a spinneret and a bundling position. The polyimide fiber extruded from the spinneret is preferably wound up at a 200-1,500 m/min.
