Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the poisoning of ceria due to sulfur and to improve durability in a composite powder composed substantially of a ceria-zirconia solid solution particle and a phosphoric compound particle and having oxygen occlusion and releasing ability. SOLUTION: This composite powder is composed of a 1st particle consisting essentially of the phosphoric compound and a 2nd particle consisting essentially of the ceria-zirconia solid-solution. Because the 1st particle has high acidity, the poisoning of the 2nd particle adjacent to the 1st particle due to sulfur is prevented. The stability in the case that oxygen defect is present in the crystal is improved by using the ceria-zirconia solid solution and as a result, the oxygen occlusion and releasing ability is also improved.
