TURNING DEVICE FOR SEAT IN VEHICLE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten lengths of link arms of an X-type link mechanism to miniaturize the whole device though a seat can be sufficiently positioned toward the outside of a vehicle in a turning state of the seat from the front direction to a side direction facing toward a door opening part. SOLUTION: A seat support member 4 for supporting a seat 5 is provided on a pedestal 1 fixed on the cabin floor surface 3 of a passenger car 2 through an X-type link mechanism 6 having plural pairs of link arms 6A, 6B and 6D, 6E. The other end part of the first link arm 6A is rotatably attached into an engaging hole 9 of the pedestal 1, while the other end part of the third link arm 6D is rotatably attached into the engaging hole 10 of the seat support member 4. The respective link arms 6A-6E are provided to the pedestal 1 and the seat support member 4 in the following manner Rotation of the X-type link mechanism 6 around the engaging hole 9 turns the seat 5 from the front direction to a side direction facing toward a door opening part 7, while the engaging hole 10 goes away from the engaging hole 9 so that the respective link arms 6A-6E are extended. Accordingly, the turning seat 5 is guided to the side direction facing toward the door opening part 7, while moving toward the outside of the car 2.
