Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To properly move a sub excavator main body to a main excavator main body, and improve workability of tunnel excavating work for elongating and narrowing a width by preventing invasion of soil to a rear space part of an excavator main body, in a tunnel excavation machine. SOLUTION: A main cutter mechanism 12 is attached on a front-end part of a main excavator main body 11. Sub excavator main bodies 13, 14 are arranged on the side of the main excavator main body 11 to attach sub cutter mechanisms 15, 16 on its front-end part. The sub excavator main bodies 13, 14 are movably and rotatably supported in a side direction to the main excavator 11 by supporting parts 17, 18 and widening jacks 19, 20. The main excavator main body 11 and the sub excavator main bodies 13, 14 can advance by shield jacks 21, 22, and 23. Covers 103, 104 for covering a rear space part of the main excavator main body 11 formed by extending backward rear end parts of the sub excavator main bodies 13, 14 in a rear direction to a rear end part of the main excavator main body 11 are provided on the sub excavator main bodies 13, 14.
