Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the mode of operation, always securing sufficient power in a battery, by causing a controller to have a plurality of operation modes for controlling an engine and a motor-generator, in accordance with an accelerator opening for operating the engine and the charging rate of a battery. SOLUTION: When the charging rate of a battery is high, and an accelerator opening is large, an acceleration mode is selected, and a motor-generator 3 is driven as a motor by power stored in a main battery 5. When the charging rate of the battery is high, and the accelerator opening is comparatively small, the motor-generator 3 is stopped, and operation is performed only by the engine. When the charging rate of the battery is low, an engine running generation mode is selected, and the motor-generator 3 is driven as a generator, and the main battery and an auxiliary battery are charged. Consequently, it becomes possible to reduce the discharged quantity of harmful exhaust gas components while reducing fuel consumption and enhancing the mode of operation.
