DISC DRIVE DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the size and thickness of a device main part and facilitate attachment/detachment of a disc-type recording medium. SOLUTION: A device main part 3 which has a disc containing part in which an optical disc 2 is contained and a cover 4 whose size is approximately the same as the size of the disc containing part, whose outer circumference has an outer circumferential wall 24 which is brought into contact with the bottom of the disc containing part and which is rotatably supported by the device main part 3 so as to be able to open and close the disc containing part are provided. A housing 5 of which the device main part 3 is composed has operation recesses 31 and 41 which are formed adjacent to the outer circumferential wall 24 of the cover 4, through which parts of the outer circumferential wall 24 of the cover 4 are visible from the outside and through which fingers can access the optical disc 2 in order to attach/detach the disc 2 to/from the disc containing part.
