FILM IMAGE INPUT DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a film image input device capable of searching respective film images of long-length developed still photographic film in a short time by fast-forwarding the film when it is instructed to perform a fast forward search, and temporarily stopping it for a specified time in the case of detecting a frame in the midst of fast-forwarding. SOLUTION: Magnetic recording information is read through a magnetic head 32 and a magnetic read circuit 34 synchronizing with detecting perforation 33 corresponding to the position of the 0-th frame of a virtual image surface by a film existence detection means 20. By decoding the information, a microcomputer 35 stores a photographing start frame number and a photographing finish frame number. When it is instructed to perform the fast forward search, the photographic film is fast-forwarded and the photographic film is temporarily stopped only for a specified time (0.1 to 0.5 seconds) at which the film image can by visually confirmed every time when the frame is detected. Therefore, the respective film images of the photographic film can be searched in a short time.
