IMAGE MEASUREMENT IDENTIFICATION DEVICE AND UNIFORM REGION DETECTOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably detect an object in an image measurement identification. SOLUTION: An edge detector 8 detects the edge of an object from an image including the object. A uniform region detector 9 detects a uniform region based on the detected edge and compares the detected uniform region shape with the estimated shape of the object to detect the object surface. A region shape comparator 11 compares the shape of the object at the time which three dimensional position of the detected object is projected to the image and the shape of the object in the image to detect an obstacle. A known shape region boundary detector 12 detects true boundary of the detected uniform region by utilizing the known shape of the object.
