Zusammenfassung:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a refining method of a high Al-containing stainless steel, by which the high Al-containing stainless steel containing 1-10 wt.% Al can be secondary-refined in safety and for a short time by using a refining vessel lined with an inexpensive MgO-containing refractory. SOLUTION: In the case of desirably being CaO/Al2O3: 0.5-0.7 to the ratio of CaO concn. and Al2O3 concn. and MgO concn.: 0-5% wt.% in the slag composition after decarburizing treatment and before deoxidizing and reducing treatment in the secondary refining by using the refining vessel lined with the MgO- containing refractory, a prescribed quantity of Al is added. The slag composition when the prescribed quantity of Al is added, is desirable to be 0.5-0.7 CaO/Al2O3 the ratio of CaO concn. and Al2O3 concn. and 0-5 wt.% of MgO concn.
